Nigeria: Fire kill two pikin for Ondo

Two small pikin, Jelad Oluwaranakinse wey be five years old and im three-year-old brother, Jenson, don die for fire wey burn dia house for Akure, Ondo State, on Wednesday.  

People wey see wetin happen talk say dia mama, Mrs. Deborah Oluwaranakinse, lock dem for inside house go buy food. As she comot, fire start for di house. Neighbours try quench di fire and save di pikin dem, but dem no fit.  

One person wey see di matter talk say, “We call fire service, but before dem reach, di fire don already kill di pikin dem.” Dem never sabi wetin cause di fire.  

Di dead body of di two pikin don dey for mortuary for University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital for Akure.  

Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Funmilayo Odunlami, confirm di bad news on Thursday. She talk say, “Di two pikin dem dey inside house wey dia mama lock before she go buy food. Di fire choke and burn dem. We dey investigate wetin cause di fire.”
