Gunmen attack Esa-Oke, One killed

Gunmen attacked Esa-Oke in Osun State, killing one person and injuring others. The victim, Clement Ajayi, was hit by a bullet during the shooting. The attackers are said to be security officers sent to maintain peace over a local chieftaincy dispute.

Last week, the government announced Prince Timileyin Ajayi as the new Olojudo of Ido Ajegunle. Some people in the community did not agree with this decision. The town is near the Osun State College of Technology, and the disagreement led to chaos.

During the attack, many people ran for safety, including students and residents. The police spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, said officers have been sent to bring peace back to the area.
