13-year-old arrested for threatening classmates with gun

A 13-year-old boy named Samuel Sunday has been arrested in Akwa Ibom State for bringing his father’s gun to school and threatening to shoot his classmates. The incident happened at St. Paul Primary School in Ikot Ibiok, Eket Local Government Area.   The police said Samuel found the gun in his father’s wardrobe and had been hiding it since November 2024. He brought it to school on January 28, 2025, and scared other pupils by saying he would shoot them. The police acted quickly, arrested Samuel, and took the gun from him.   Samuel’s father has also been arrested, and the police are still investigating the case. The police chief, Baba Mohammed Azare, shared this information during a briefing on recent crimes in the state. He said they are working to stop such dangerous situations from happening again.

Gunmen kidnap 10 people for Ondo

For Ondo State, some gunmen don kidnap 10 travelers for Owo-Ipele-Benin road. Police tok-tok person, Funmi Odunlami, talk say na seven people dem sure say dem kidnap. Gunmen kidnap 10 people in Ondo

In Ondo State, gunmen kidnapped 10 travellers on the Owo-Ipele-Benin Highway. A police spokesperson, Funmi Odunlami, said seven people were confirmed kidnapped. The travellers were coming back from the South-South region and heading to Akure when the incident happened.   Their vehicle was found abandoned on the roadside, and other drivers noticed and raised the alarm. The police are currently investigating the case and have promised to share more information soon.   The kidnappers have contacted the victims’ families and are asking for money (ransom) to let the people go.

Three siblings found dead in freezer in Anambra community

In Nnewichi, Anambra State, three children were tragically killed and their bodies were found inside a deep freezer. The victims, siblings aged 9, 7, and 5, were left home alone by their mother, Mrs. Chikazor Ejezie, who went to take an exam. When she returned, she saw the apartment door wide open, which was unusual. After searching everywhere for her children, she opened the freezer and was shocked to find their lifeless bodies squeezed inside.   The father, Mr. Udobi Ejezie, who works in Edo State, rushed home after hearing the terrible news from his wife. He explained that the children had been eating when the attackers came, as plates of food were found abandoned. The family lives in a bungalow with two other tenants and the landlord. The police have been informed, and the children’s bodies have been taken to a mortuary.   The tragedy has left the parents devastated. 28 people die in Ondo road accident

A terrible accident happened on the Ore-Lagos highway in Ondo State, where 28 passengers were burned to death after two vehicles crashed into each other on Saturday evening. The crash happened because of speeding and breaking traffic rules. Only two people survived and are being treated in the hospital. The bodies of those who died have been taken to a hospital in Ore.   The commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Samuel Ibitoye, said drivers must be more careful and drive safely. He also advised passengers to speak up if their driver is driving recklessly. Seven people were injured in a car accident on Friday night on the Lagos-Badagry Expressway. The crash happened at Sawmill Bus Stop, near Ibereko, around 11:10 p.m. A V-wagon commercial bus and a Toyota Camry car collided. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) was informed at 11:15 p.m. and arrived at the scene seven minutes later. The FRSC commander, Mr. William Manga, explained that the V-wagon bus lost control while making a u-turn and hit the Toyota Camry car coming from the opposite direction. A total of 24 people were involved in the accident. Seven people, including four men and three women, were injured and taken to Care General Hospital in Badagry for treatment. The commander said the accident happened because of dangerous driving. Both vehicles were taken to the Mowo Police Station. Mr. Manga warned drivers to follow traffic rules, avoid speeding, and not overload their vehicles to prevent accidents.

Olivier Boko, a businessman and friend of President Patrice Talon, and Oswald Homeky, a former sports minister, were found guilty of trying to bribe the president's security chief to help with the coup. Homeky was caught giving six bags of money to the security chief, who later reported the plan.   Boko, who is seen as the president's close ally, was accused of being the main planner of the plot.
